I've been experimenting with 2 part sculptures as you can see. I've always liked the regular royal guard design and had the bright idea to make a two piece set with one of Luna's royal guards, thus embarking on one of the more frustrating ideas I've gotten.
The main difficulty in a piece involving more than one character is making sure they're in proportion to one another. This super fun piece posed the additional problem of having the characters mirror each other as much as possible, which has been vaguely achieved here. I did learn a lot about getting them to mirror, so hopefully the next time I try something like this they'll be more closely matched.
I couldn't get these two to photograph just right, so I hope all the armor detailing is visible. I also coated the armor with a thin layer of shimmery paint (gold for day guard, silver for night). They're make of sculpey over a wire and foil armature, painted with acrylics and sprayed with a matte sealer. Their bases measure 3 x 2 1/2 and they are about 6 inches tall at the wing.
These are sold, if I'm feeling masochistic maybe I'll make another set in the future.
