In school, I always teach a unit on Baroque art (following the Renaissance unit for chronology of course). Even though I've taught this lesson a bunch of times, I really looked at the tools the artists uses to convey emotion and storytelling and wanted to bring some of that into my own pieces. It's a bit odd to have Bernini and My Little Pony finding some common ground, yet here we are.
I spent my spring break mostly sculpting and binge watching Young Justice, so I have a bunch of new pieces to paint. I was trying for some more expressive, character driven sculpts with greater diversity of expression and movement, hopefully I was able to capture a little bit of that.
