Just got word that I got into Bronycon 2014!! Really happy to make my third appearance as a vendor at this amazing con!
In other con news, DorkSpork (my LLC and the name I use at conventions to vend since it has a tax ID) will be vending at AwesomeCon in Washington DC in April and AnimeNext in Somerset NJ in June. Its gonna get crazy!
I'm finishing up the commissions I have an diving right in to getting myself stocked for this insane con season. Please stop by and say hello if you're going to be at any of these events!
Last minute Bronycon!
So I was initially wait listed at Bronycon and finally got a spot after emailing them about a month ago, last minute preparations have been eating up all my free time but I’m glad to see everyone again in Baltimore!
I will be in the artist alley area this year, in the middle of the center aisle under the DorkSpork banner. Please come by and say hi!
Also, you probably noticed I stopped useing this page. I’m trying to switch everything to Instagram, so please follow me over there CadmiumCrab (https://www.deviantart.com/cadmiumcrab).
Inspirations
In school, I always teach a unit on Baroque art (following the Renaissance unit for chronology of course). Even though I've taught this lesson a bunch of times, I really looked at the tools the artists uses to convey emotion and storytelling and wanted to bring some of that into my own pieces. Resolutions
I've been ignoring this space for too long, so my New Years resolution was to get off my ass and start submitting more art and being active in the DA community like back in the day. One journal entry a week from now on and more art for your eyes.
In in this interim, I've been really working on expanding the types of sculptures I make and better incorporating light up elements into the pieces. Thus far it's been a fun but challenging process. Personally, I've changed jobs again and am teaching middle school art again while also teaching nights and weekends at a BYOB paint studio. I pretty much work 7 days a week, so it's been difficult findin
...nothing much to say
So I've been maintaining some radio silence as of the last few months, but I've been getting my motivational mojo back and will be posting some new stuff.
Commissions will be closed for an indefinite period of time, mostly because I'm so bad at filling them. I will be offering completed pieces for sale as I post them.
Happy 2015, let's get creating.
